On July 1, 2024, a landmark agreement was signed between the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur, and UNA AP&T at the UAS campus. This MOU marks an exciting new chapter in the role of science and technology in drone agriculture.

The partnership focuses on harnessing the power of drones to transform agricultural practices. It includes plans for launching specialized courses on drone technology, training future drone pilots, and conducting cutting-edge research on drone applications in farming. These initiatives will be supported through the Asia Pacific Work Research Station, which aims to drive technological innovation in the region.

A key highlight of this agreement is the commitment to showcase India’s agricultural achievements on a global stage. The Mahanandi Great Bull Declaration, a symbol of India’s agricultural heritage, will be featured in presentations to UN Member States. This effort reflects a broader vision of demonstrating India’s advancements and leadership in agricultural technology with a strong sense of national pride and UN statesmanship.

This collaboration between UAS Raichur and UNA AP&T is a significant step towards integrating advanced drone technology into agriculture, benefiting both India and the global agricultural community. It underscores a shared commitment to innovation and excellence, paving the way for transformative developments in farming practices.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) was recognized by the United Nations in its resolution 47/196 of 22 December 1992. On that day, the United Nations ensures that the knowledge, contributions and experience of people living in poverty are recognized and celebrated.

This year, the theme of IDEP is “Building Forward Together: Ending Persistent Poverty, Respecting all People and our Planet’’.
